Boxstr.net is not our website and its owner is company, that was in charge of support for boxstr.com recently. We believe, they purposely mismanaged Boxstr.com and unlawfully copied wbesite to take over our customers.
We recommend you to download your files from Boxstr.net and upload them to OpenDrive.
Be aware of Boxstr.net, this is not our website!

I don't understand. How could they copy all of our files and all of our info and settings and make exactly the same website, where you (who use to own boxstr.com) don't even know if you can get our files back. It's getting really confusing now. (and suspicious).

As you can see http://whois.domaintools.com/boxstr.net, boxstr.net was created yesterday.
True is, our company bought service Boxstr in 11/2007.
On the begining of 2009 we asked another company to manage this project for us and this is how it end up: https://www.opendrive.com/files?5705693_nfdih .
During year 2009, users lost files twice. Last week, when we started to receive another emails from Boxstr users, that they can't see their files, we said enough and redirected Boxstr to OpenDrive, which was our separated service.
If boxstr.net has your files, files were taken without our authorization to purposely harm Boxstr or OpenDrive name and take over Boxstr users.
OpenDrive service is free for most of users and we are able to promise, your uploaded files are secure with OpenDrive.Posted 10 months ago # -

I've got an email a couple of days ago from boxstr.net, warning me about OD, and providing me the new .net address. I logged in and found my files...destroyed, except for two of the latest uploads, just before the "crash", whatever it be. File names and icons seemed to remain intact, but links pointed nowhere ("this file cannot be found in this server") I sent an email to the support they offered, but it also went to the void, because the mail was retorned with a message stating that such email don't exists. If all this weren't weird enough, their mail linked to a "paypay" page that I'd never seen before related to boxstr site.
I'm going to delete all my "files" from boxstr.net and trust in OD for now.
I feel like Mulder, I want to believe, but you know, it's hard.Posted 10 months ago # -
How come nobody was told about this? Why do we have to trust boxstr.net? Or opendrive.com? They are both saying that that they use to own boxstr.com. I'm really lost now. At least boxstr.net has all me files.

Please see explanation above, who is the owner of boxstr.com and why.
Sometimes you can see here messages from boxstr.net, this is just the way how they're doing business and reason why we stopped working with them...Posted 9 months ago # -
I wasn't confused. I am now. I was told by boxstr.com that boxstr.com owned opendrive.com, but now I hear it's the other way around?. I don't get it. I thought they were basically the same company:
"A new remote drive has been launched by the folks at BOXSTr.com by the name of OpenDrive..."

Boxstr was bought few years ago including software and OpenDrive software was developed little later by same company and people.
For some time OD was connected to Boxstr and users could use OD app to manage Boxstr files. Unfortunately Boxstr software and set up was not reliable and difficult for further development, that's why we separated OD and started to develop from scratch.
Later on, we were focusing more on OD development and OD has all features of Boxstr + desktop application and file search engine. Within few weeks we will launch also new desktop version for businesses.Posted 9 months ago #
